Best Times to Skip the Crowds

When to Visit Normandy?

Our gentle tips to avoid the crowds and enjoy every moment 🌾🌊

Normandy... It’s the sea breeze to wake you gently, delicious markets, shifting skies, and breathtaking cliffs.

But like any beautiful region, there are busy moments — and quieter ones when time seems to stand still.

Today, we’re sharing our best tips for choosing the right season, avoiding the crowds, and getting the most from your trip.

☀️ Peak season

July and August are ideal if you enjoy a lively atmosphere… but expect crowds too.

  • May bank holidays: long weekends mean busy sites.
  • June 6 commemorations: expect heavy footfall near Arromanches, Bayeux, etc.

→ Book your accommodation, restaurants, and activities well in advance.

🌿 Our favorite seasons

May & June (outside bank holidays): flowers, mild weather, and peaceful beaches.

September & October: calm, golden light, and a cozy atmosphere.

Winter: cozy vibes, bracing walks, and subtle charm.

🕰️ Smart tip: travel midweek

A Tuesday to Thursday getaway changes everything: fewer crowds, more peace.

🌊 In summary
