The Aure River flows through the town of Bayeux, offering an ideal setting for a peaceful walk between heritage and nature.
The riverside trail, accessible from the town center, follows the Aure past the botanical garden, old mills, and the ancient city walls. It’s an easy, relaxing walk — perfect for exploring Bayeux from a different perspective.
As you leave the town, the path stretches toward Vaux-sur-Aure, winding through quiet country lanes lined with hedgerows and meadows. It’s a wonderful way to explore the Bayeux countryside on foot or by bike, surrounded by calm and greenery.

More rural and untamed, the Seulles Valley offers a beautiful immersion in nature.
In Juaye-Mondaye, you can begin your walk near the peaceful Saint-Martin Abbey, located by the river. From there, a trail follows the Seulles through woods and fields, leading toward Ponts-sur-Seulles or Tilly-sur-Seulles.
Further downstream, near Creully-sur-Seulles, the path winds across charming little bridges and through wetlands rich in biodiversity. It’s a perfect spot for birdwatching, a picnic break, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the Normandy countryside.
